Streamlined Backshop Services present a sample of the installation services available for your DCC project. This project using the Con-Cor/Rivarossi Challenger as a platform utilizes a Soundtraxx TSU750 Tsunami Micro decoder for some light functions and sound and a TCS M1 for front light and motor control. The backup light fixture on the tender has been modified to accept an operational LED. An 0603 Warm White LED with 1000 ohm resistor is used for the front and rear lights. The speakers are (2) 13x13mm speakers aimed down through the floor adn are available from Streamlined Backshop Services and (2) 13mm rounds aimed up through the coal load. The sound file is Heavy Steam version available from Soundtraxx. The Athearn Challenger is fitted with a TSU750 also. I do not know the version as it was sent in for repair. The speaker is the facotry installation however. The video is a great example of the volume I am able to get out of many installationsby using a good mix of speakers, placement, and natural baffeling from the loco shell as well as a side-by-side comparison of the two versions of this model. Also be sure to compare the sound in this video to the sound car video on my channel. This is a good reference of the difference between Soundtraxx, ESU Loksound, Digitrax and MRC sound.
